Safe Harbor Holiday Giving

2016 HOLIDAY GIFT SUGGESTIONS AND DELIVERY INFORMATION

In December, we accept gifts of new clothing, toys, and household items for our clients.  Many women who have suffered domestic abuse have no other resources for the holidays, and all the women and children served by Safe Harbor are grateful for your gifts. Many of our clients have no other resources for the holidays. Last year, several hundred individuals were helped by holiday giving. We count on the community to help provide holiday gifts for our clients at Safe Harbor and help make the holidays brighter for women and children whose lives have been shattered by domestic violence.

To protect their privacy and security and because we cannot always tell in advance the number of women and children who will need assistance, we are unable to offer specific families to adopt. If you would like to sponsor a family, please consider selecting one or more individual women and several children for us to group as families.

Please let us know by email at holidayprogram@safeharborsc.org the number of women and the number of children you wish to sponsor, along with age and gender of each child. If you wish, we can suggest ages, genders, and sizes as well as items most needed.

We request that you or your group spend approximately $100 per client, but we are grateful for gifts in any amount. Every age group including adults can use underwear and socks as well as winter clothing such as hats, gloves and mittens, scarves, robes, pajamas, and jackets. Women and teens also appreciate gift cards in $20 increments. We have listed some additional specific gift ideas below.

Deliver gifts to Elks Lodge, 7700 Pelham Road, Greenville 29615. We will have staff available to accept gifts on December 13, 14 and 15 between 10am and 3pm. If you cannot meet our delivery schedule, please phone 864-385-6928 to make alternative arrangements; leave a detailed message with the best times to return your call.

Please do not gift wrap items or put them in sealed boxes.

  • Please mark each box or bag with the age and if appropriate the gender of each child. For women, please indicate the size or size range.
  • If you have gift cards, please put them in sealed envelopes – not in gift boxes or bags. Please write the amount of each card on the card or on the envelope.

If you have any questions, please email Safe Harbor at holidayprogram@safeharborsc.org. If you do not have access to email, please phone 864-385-6928 and leave a detailed message for us to contact you.
