“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” – Charles Dickens
The bad news is that there’s no cure or vaccine for domestic violence, so we’ll always have work to do. The good news is that Safe Harbor has a dedicated, experienced staff and a lot of volunteers.
We don’t charge our clients for our services. We’re funded by the United Way, government grants, private foundations and community donations.
Community support and volunteers are vital to our ongoing operation.
We run a tight ship. 89 cents of every dollar we receive goes to help our clients and our board of directors provides strict controls and oversight. You can read our annual filing with the South Carolina Secretary of State here.
