Safe Harbor's Impact in 2008
2008 was a busy year at Safe Harbor. Throughout the 2008 year, Safe Harbor:
- Provided shelter for 524 women and children (291 adults; 233 children)
- Provided 11,761 nights of shelter for victims and their children
- Received 1,029 crisis calls
- Provided 1,173.92 hours of individual counseling and 243.25 hours of group counseling
- Reached 2,658 people through community education
Clearly, Safe Harbor made an impact in 2008, serving victims of domestic violence and their children while raising awareness about this issue throughout the Upstate of South Carolina. However, without support from our volunteers, donors, and friends, our programs and services would not be possible. In 2008, Safe Harbor volunteers donated 7,369 hours of their time. Donors provided much-needed funds to maintain and improve Safe Harbor's shelter services and outreach programs. Friends of Safe Harbor raised awareness about the issue of domestic violence and the mission of Safe Harbor through their businesses, faith communities, and community groups.
It is thanks to you that Safe Harbor continues to be a place of safety and hope for victims of domestic violence and their children. We are deeply grateful for your support and care.
